We had a good time on Sunday as the group was able to venture out into some 'student driven' discussion concerning a Christian Code of Conduct. They looked, through scripture and one another's opinion, and tried to nail down a maximum of 12 principles that a Christian should live by. They came up with five in 30 minutes, and I'm sure they would've deducted a few more if time alotted.
It was interesting to see some of the things that were discovered. The two that the group deemed most important were - Love God and Know God. I agree, these are very important - but are these things measurable and when does someone know that they have achieved them or moving in the proper direction? Something to think about....
It's very important that something be different about us if we are Christians. We aren't Christians because we go to youth group any more than you're a cow the moment you step into a barn. Simply showing up somewhere doesn't make you something... then what does? This is the question that we need to ask ourselves and I'd love to hear some feedback. My question to you - What makes you a Christian and should there be something different with you than with your friends at school who aren't Christians? Let me know....
Also, don't forget the extended deadline for friends that want to go to ATF. We need the money by October 28th - Saturday - and it's going to be $60. We already have 20 people going and paid and there is a winner to our Lock In Contest. In fact, if you know Amber from the Lock in - tell her she won a ticket to ATF!!!!
She may have not won the pie eating contest, but she is going to walk away with a great prize!
